Support by the CVJM

The Association of Young Christians (Christlicher Verein Junger Menschen CVJM) from Spielberg is wont to donate 10 per cent of its yearly revenues to charity associations. In the course of their annual meeting on the 12th February 2012 the president of the association Jochen Fischer handed over a cheque amounting to 500 € to Judith representing Sprung ins Leben.
We thank the CVJM for its generous support.

Braving rain and wind at the Christmas market

In 2011 we had our "traditional" stall at the Christmas market in Karlsbad-Langentsteinbach. Despite the unpleasant weather our Ecuadorian goods flew of the shelves and we earned a record profit of 1,335.52 €. So we can support more children in Ecuador and offer them the chance for an independent life.
Many thanks to all volunteers, the Red Cross for the provision of the hut, the municipality for their support and all visitors.

Charity Concert by Ragout-Fin

On Saturday, 19th of November 2011, more than 120 visitors came to the communal hall of the protes- tant parish in Spielberg and enjoyed the diverse repertoire of the band Ragout- Fin. The atmosphere was hilarious and the people partied and danced polonaise.
Our association had the opportunity to present our- selves and our goals and to inform about current develop-ments.
Thanks to this event we are able to support our protegés in Ecuador with additional 1,500 €, a financial support, which is beyond all our expectations.
Many thanks to the musicians of the band Ragout-Fin for their rousing concert. We also thank all the volunteers and supporters to this evening, the Protestant church, the choir "Frohsinn", Professor Diehm and the SRH Clinic. Our thanks also go to the bakery Nussbaumer, who has provided pasteries for our concertgoers. At this point we would also like to thank the members of the "evangelischen Arbeitnehmerschaft" for their donation of 140 €. At last many thanks to all visitors of the concert for their generous donations.

Sale of waffles at the University of Konstanz

For the 7th of November 2011 we organized a sale of waffles at the University of Konstanz. We got great feedback with our fresh golden brown waffles by the students and staff of the university and we could take € 325 for the association.
After this success, more waffle sale booths are already being planned.

College festivities at the Gymnasium Karlsbad

During the college festivities at the Gymnasium Karlsbad (secondary school) on the 15th of July 2011 we were present with an own stall informing about our association and selling Ecuadorian hand-made goods. We met many interested visitors and realized revenues of 263 €.
Thank you very much to the head of the school for the persistently good cooperation.

Charity Run in Spielberg

The primary school of Spielberg organized a charity run on the 12th of July 2011 and collected 1.200 € for Sprung ins Leben e.V.
We are grateful to all participating children, the sponsors and the head of school.

Stall at the night jumble sale in Konstanz

On the 2nd und 3rd of July 2011 the traditional night jumble sale took place in Konstanz and its neigbouring Swiss city Kreuz-lingen. This exceptional jumble sale starts in the evening and lasts 24 hours. Thanks to charitable contributions we had enough rummage for an own stall. Surprisingly many things got sold and in addition we reached the interest and attention of many people for our association.
Thank you very much to the muni- pality of Konstanz for the support by waiving the fees for the stall.

Donation of the parish of Pfullingen

Due to the personal contact between our 2nd president Julia and the pastoral assistant of the St. Wolfgang Church the catholic parish of Pfullingen came to know our association and decided to donate us 3.900 € of their fund for the developing world 2011.
During the conference of the parish council on the 30th of June 2011 Duygu presented our association and how we work. The councillors showed great interest in our activities, the individual destinies of our protegés and Ecuador in general. In addition the councillors appreciated to get a more personal relation to the project and to ascertain the meaningful usage of their donation.
Thank you very much indeed for showing so much trust and interest and the generous support.

Sales of cocktails at the village fête in Spielberg

On the 4th and 5th of June 2011 the yearly village fête took place in Spielberg. Sprung ins Leben e.V. as an association of Spielberg was also present with a stall. Since it rained towards the end of the fest, we were happy all the more that the sale of our fresh cocktails contributed with 500 € to reach our aim, the financing of another prosthesis.

Yard Sale at Munds' house

A yard sale took place on the 21st of May 2011 in familiy Mund's garage in Spielberg. The sale of toys, clothes, and rummage attracted many people from Karlsbad and brought us a return of 150 €.

Stall at the Summer Concert

By now our stall on the occasion of the biannual concerts at the Gymnasium Karlsbad (secondary school) is a recurrent action. On the 20th of May 2011 we sold imported Ecuadorian goods and provided information on our association during the break.

Sale of cakes and muffins in Konstanz

On the 16th of April and 13th of May 2011 our association's members in Konstanz tried out a new initiative: the organisation of two stalls on the St.-Gebhardplatz and the St.-Stephansplatz in Konstanz. Despite iciness we succeeded in selling our affectionately self-baked cakes and muffins. We had lots of fun while baking and proved that students can be good pastry cooks.

Thank you very much all students that helped baking and thanks to the municipality of Konstanz for exempting us from the fees.

Sale of hotdogs at the AMH-Party

On the 5th of May 2011 the traditional party at the Albertus-Magnus-Haus took place. At the occacion of this biannual party in the dorm in Konstanz we sold hotdogs in favour of Sprung ins Leben e.V. and realized revenues of 170 €.

Once again a stall at the Gymnasium Karlsbad

As in summer we were allowed to present our association with a stall at the event of the Advent Concert 2010 of the Gymnasium (secondary school) Karlsbad. During the break we offered goods from Latin America. We were happy to earn 191 €.

Stall at the Christmas Market again successful

As last year we had a little stall on the Christmas Market of Karlsbad, which took place between the 3rd and the 5th of December. Although it was really cold we had a lot of visitors and customers. So we were able to collect 1116,95 €. This sum will be used to finance the prostheses for Darlin, our newest protégé.
Thank you to the visitors of the Christmas Market and the community of Karlsbad, which agagin waved the fee for the stall.

"Sprung ins Leben" informs "DAS FEST"

Between the 23th and the 25th of July „Das Fest“, a fesitival with 254,000 visitors took place in Karlsruhe. During two days six members represented "Sprung ins Leben" with a colourful decorated stall in the court for charitable associations. As on Sunday the weather was much better than on Saturday, there had been many more interested people. Then many people came to buy Ecuadorian goods, inform themselves about our association, take along our flyers and talk abaout or work. Finally we achieved 230 € for our association.

Art exhibition in Herbertingen

Saturday, the 17th of July, we were guests at the Don Bosco kindergarten for the art exhi-bition, which took place there. In the course of an arts project over several months the children had painted several tableaux. Assisted by their nurses and an artist they had succeeded in producing pictures of dif-ferent styles (e.g. "Hundertwasser"). Through the auction and sale of these tableaux the kindergarten generated proceeds of 500 euros, which was donated to our association (see also Press)!
We were affected by the passion and commitment of the children and the Don Bosco Team to this project. Thank you very much indeed! We also would like to thank Mr. Michael Schrenk, mayor of Herbertingen, who conducted the auction and of course we thank the parents for preparing cakes and for buying the pictures.

Learning about Ecuador in Spielberg

Although it was pretty hot on Sun-day, 4th of July, lots of interested people attended our Ecuador after-noon in the accommodations of the "Traube" in Spielberg. After having coffee an cake, our 1st pre-sident, Philippa Mund, took us to a mental journey to Ecuador. The country became real to all attendants viewing the photos and listening to Philippa's narra-tions. The most beautiful pictures were exhibited in the hall. The event was accompanied by Latin music performed by the Mexican vocalist and guitarist Norma Stähle. After the presentation of the country, Kolja Mund talked about our work for the hospital in Quito and her experiences (see also Press).
Thank you very much to all interested attendants and contributors, who helped us to spend this enjoyable afternoon.

Stall at the Concert of the Gymnasium Karlsbad

On the 18th of June the annual concert of the Gymnasium (secondary school) Karlsbad took place. We had the opportunity to build up a little stall during the break, to recruit new members and to sell Ecuadorian goods. There was lively interest and we are happy about gains of 100 €, although the time was really short.
We thank the head of the school and are looking forward to future cooperation.

Overwhelming support by the parish!

On Sunday, April 25th, the confirmation of 22 confirmees took place in the protestant parish. Hanna had the opportunity to present our society and our work during the service. The collecte this day was designated for "Leap for Life" and resulted in an incredible 916 € (see also Press). It was amazing, how large the willingness in the parish and the guests of the confirmees was to help. A heartfelt thank you to all contributors!

Christmas market a full success!

The first big activity of our society was a stall at Karlsbad's Christmas market (see also Press). Thanks to the huge interest and encouragement by Karlsbad's population we sold nearly all our goods and made nearly 900 € in sales. We want to thank all our visitors very affectionately. With the amount of money it is nearly possible already to finance prostheses for yet another child. We hope we will be able to repeat this success next year.
