Feb. 2005, kommt aus dem Valle San Jos\u00e9 in der Region Cotopaxi (in den mittleren Anden). Als sie zwei Jahre alt war befand sie sich im Innenhof des Hauses, in dem es ein gro\u00dfes Beet gab. Das M\u00e4dchen wurde dort von einem kleinen Traktor an der Beininnenseite angefahren.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sie wurde sofort nach Latacunga (ca. 2 Stunden von Quito entfernt) gebracht und sp\u00e4ter ins Baca Ortiz nach Quito verlegt. Dort blieb den \u00c4rzten nur noch die Amputation des rechten Beines (knieabw\u00e4rts). Vom Baca Ortiz aus wurde Jessica zur Fundaci\u00f3n Hermano Miguel geschickt, wo sie ihre ersten Prothesen (dank der Sozialabteilung der Fundaci\u00f3n) bekam.
