Bei ihm wurde ein Knochentumor diagnostiziert, weswegen er operiert wurde. Im Verlaufe der Operation stellte sich heraus, dass das Bein amputiert werden muss. Vor und nach der Operation wurde er jeweils in zehn Mal chemotherapeutisch behandelt. Die letzte Therapie fand im April 2019 statt. Im Anschluss begann er mit der Rehabilitation und gezieltem Muskelaufbau.
